World's Most Famous Beach

Daytona Beach has been dubbed the "World's Most Famous Beach" and with good reason.

Visitors and residents are permitted to drive their vehicles right onto the beach and enjoy the beautiful day.

Daytona Beach sits on Florida's east coast, it is about an hour south of Jacksonville and 45 minutes west of Orlando.

There are plenty of things to do in Daytona besides sunbathe on the beach, as it is home to many events and attractions.

The Boardwalk on Daytona Beach

The boardwalk is full of attractions and great for just hanging out and people watching.

On the boardwalk in Daytona , you will find rides, places to eat, and an overall fun atmosphere. The boardwalk is just steps from the beach.

You are able to rent paddle boats, wave runners and umbrellas to keep your self from getting too sunburned.

Daytona Beach is a popular city for Spring Breakers (although not as much as it used to be), the infamous Bike Week and home of the Daytona 500.

In February, after the excitement of the Daytona 500, residents and business owners can barely catch their breath as Bike Week descends upon them.

Thousands of bikers come into town, and the roar of motorcycle engines can be heard morning, noon and night, 24/7 for a full week.

Bike Week is not without unfortunate incidents, as local police are busier than normal, but this event brings in considerable income to the city.

For the most part, last year's Bike Week was free of any major accidents or incidents.

Daytona Beach is also a fine place to live. I used to live there for about five years, and made a lot of good friends. During off season and summer it can be a quiet city to work in and relax.
